Before i went in to have my upper gi endoscopy done, i had only mild heartburn and only if i went to bed on a full stomach and only sometimes one week after i had the endoscopy i feel like all hell broke loose i suffered the worst heartburn i have ever experienced in my life severe chest pain and burning for two. The acid burns your tissue. it makes it feel as though something is caught in your throat, but it doesn’t make anything get stuck. its true that the meds reduce acid levels to prevent irritation but the meds don’t fix the reflux. edit: also its normal for the endoscopy to have irritated your condition for a few days.
